Townsville Junior Touch Football (TJT) is the public name of the Townsville Touch Football (TTF) Junior Competitions Sub-Committee, which is responsible for managing and delivering the Association’s junior competitions and development activities.
Formally established under the Association’s Constitution, the sub-committee operates on behalf of the Townsville Touch Football Board and is chaired by the Junior Competitions Coordinator. It functions as part of the Association’s broader governance structure and operates semi-autonomously under its own set of rules and powers delegated by the Board in accordance with the Constitution, ensuring that all junior competitions are administered effectively, sustainably, and in alignment with the Association’s strategic objectives.
The Management Group is responsible for the day-to-day administration and delivery of Townsville Touch Football’s junior competitions and development activities. It implements the decisions of the TJT General Committee, manages operational matters, and ensures the smooth and consistent running of all junior seasons. Acting on behalf of the TTF Board, the group provides administrative, financial, and strategic oversight to ensure that the junior portfolio operates efficiently and in alignment with the Association’s governance standards and the frameworks of Touch Football Australia (TFA).

Operating under the authority of the Junior Competitions Sub-Committee, the TJT General Committee brings together club delegates and key portfolio representatives to ensure the junior competitions remain collaborative, inclusive, and community-driven.
The General Committee is made up of the Management Group, a Referee Coordinator (appointed by the Townsville Touch Referees Association), and up to two delegates from each participating club (one voting and one non-voting) who are appointed by their respective clubs.
The General Committee is responsible for establishing and reviewing the rules, policies, and competition structures under which the junior competitions are conducted. Through this role, it plays a vital part in maintaining transparency, supporting the growth of the junior game, and ensuring alignment with the Association’s strategic direction and the participation frameworks of Touch Football Australia (TFA).
