Zero Tolerance Towards Swearing & Bad Behaviour

At Townsville Junior Touch Football we value our family-friendly atmosphere and we work hard to ensure that everyone enjoys their time while at Queens Park.

Junior sport isn't about winning. Instead it's is about creating a life-long love of physical activity, team-building, and much more. It teaches us to accept the wins and the losses.

We want to make sure that everyone has a positive experience while they're at a touch football venue, so in 2014 we created the Play The Game » Think Before You Speak campaign as a way to encourage good behaviour from all of our members; our players, coaches, officials and supporters.

As part of this campaign, and of course as part of our codes of conduct, we have adopted a zero tolerance policy towards foul language and bad behaviour.

What we ask of you, as our valued players and parents, is simply to support us by emphasising to your teammates and supporters that swearing and bad sportsmanship has no place at touch football.

As of this week, our referees are being instructed to immediately sanction any player who infringes the policy, and those sanctions will range from a penalty through to dismissal from the match.

We understand that it can be frustrating when things don't go your way, but we know that there is a right and a wrong way to deal with it; swearing and bad behaviour simply isn't it, and will instead end up hurting your team.

Stay positive and promote good behaviour, because everyone deserves the right to enjoy their touch football experience!
