Dear Players and Parents,
We are now into the final stages of our season and with it comes the pressures of winning this week to remain in the competition and ultimately be crowned champions. I would like to take this opportunity to pen an open letter to all of our players, officials and supporters, to issue a reminder about the expectations we have in regards to your behaviour.

This is JUNIOR SPORT, not the World Cup!
While we know that no-one likes to lose, it's a fact of life that there can be only one eventual winner. Junior sport isn't about winning though; instead it's is about creating a life-long love of physical activity, team-building, and much more. It teaches us to accept the wins and the losses.
A winning culture is great, but far more important is to have a culture that encourages learning and positive experiences. Put simply, we want our players, coaches and supporters to be positive on the field and the sideline.

Let our referees do their job!
Now more than ever this season, our referees are under pressure to make the right call. They've been working hard to ensure that they're up to the task of officiating a game in the finals series. We've been working with them to develop their skills, abilities, knowledge of the rules and many more facets of the game.
But just like any player, they aren't perfect and they will make mistakes. It may frustrate you but
at the end of the day they are human, just like the rest of us. What does set them apart from the rest of us however,
is the fact that they give up their Thursday and Friday nights to come down and make sure we have a game to play. For that alone, they deserve our respect.
Under no circumstances are referees to be engaged by spectators, coaches or players. You may not always like their decisions, but it is never acceptable to criticize them for making it.
We want to let you know that all games for the next two weeks will be monitored closely for negative behaviour, and it will be dealt with accordingly by our team of officials.
The message is clear: negative behaviour won't be tolerated, so if you don't think you can remain positive, perhaps it's best to stay at home so that your team can concentrate on doing their best, without you as a distraction.
If you're not sure what is and isn't acceptable, take a look at the following policies:
On a lighter note, congratulations to our players, coaches and officials on making it this far, and good luck in the finals series ahead!
Don't forget that our 2017 Junior Mixed competition is set to start in March and is already open for registration via our website - www.tsvjnrtouch.com.
