Pierce Named Volunteer of the Year

Townsville Junior Touch Football has named Cherrie Pierce from Sharks Touch Club as the inaugural recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award.

Cherrie has been recognised for her hard work and contribution to touch football over the last twelve months, both with her club and within the junior touch football community.

Townsville Junior Touch Football Chairman, Kerrod Hall, surprised Cherrie with the award on Friday night, which was presented during a break in Grand Final presentations.

Starting this year, the award will be presented annually to a volunteer recognised by the TJT committee for their ongoing effort and contribution to the organisation and the sport over a twelve month period. Volunteers from all clubs are eligible to receive it and an expanded nomination process will be provided to all clubs in 2017.

Congratulations to Cherrie for being named this years recipient, and thank-you to all volunteers who have given up their valuable time to make 2016 a great success!
