The Townsville Touch Referees Association Inc (TTRA) is running a host of referee accreditation courses in March and, best of all, THEY'RE FREE!
For new referees who are refereeing in an adult competition this season, two Level 1 courses will be held: the first on Saturday 4th March, the second on Sunday 5th. Both courses are the same, so you're free to choose the one that suits you best!
The Level 1 "foundation" course is designed for anyone who is interested in becoming a touch football referee, regardless of previous experience or skill level. You'll learn about the rules of the game, how to make the right calls, and how to manage a game effectively and fairly.
Returning referees with at least one full Colliers Shield season in experience are encouraged to attend the Level 2 course, which will be held on Sunday 19 March.
For more experienced referees who have held their Level 2 accreditation for at least 12 months, a Level 3 course is scheduled for Sunday 26 March. The course is recommended for any existing Level 2 referees who are intending to referee at a representative even in 2023, including April's Junior State Cup North (JSCN).
All courses are led by experienced referees who have a wealth of knowledge and passion for touch football. They will provide you with hands-on training and support, ensuring that you have the skills and confidence you need to be a great referee.
